About ICPC Bolivia
We are the community that runs the Bolivian Programming Contest and coordinates the country's participation in the International Collegiate Programming Contest.
The ICPC format
The International Collegiate Programming Contest began in 1970 and became the leading university team programming competition. Each team brings together three students from the same institution, a coach and a single computer.
During a contest, teams solve algorithmic problems under time pressure. The scoreboard ranks first by the number of problems solved and then by penalty. The result depends as much on reading, strategy and communication within the team as on technical knowledge.
The ICPC in Bolivia
More than two decades connecting universities and programming communities.
Bolivian universities joined the circuit from 2002 onwards. Since then, lecturers, students and volunteers have sustained contests, training camps and coaching networks in cities across the country.
The 2025 Bolivian Programming Contest brought together 197 teams across eleven sites with recorded results. For 2026, the organisation expanded the national stage to two mandatory phases and an official network of 12 cities: Bermejo, Cobija, Cochabamba, La Paz, Llallagua, Oruro, Potosí, Santa Cruz, Sucre, Tarija, Trinidad and Tupiza.
The goal remains the same: bring an international competition within reach of more universities, build strong teams, and grow a community that shares knowledge across cities and generations.
